1962 RedBird New York Subway Sign w/ Destinations: 137TH ST B'Way, 19x44 inches

This New York Subway sign is 19 inches wide and 44 inches long. It is made of a cloth-like material called Vellum.

The sign is in fantastic condition for its age. One small tape repair was made with 3M gaffer tape along the edge. Please carefully review the photos before making your purchase.

Destinations are: 148TH STREET LENOX TERMINAL, 145TH STREET (Malcolm X Blvd/Lenox Ave), 137TH STREET (Broadway).

This sign came from trains that operated on the numbered subway routes. Many series of cars featured similar characteristics, including the signs. These trains were affectionately called, "Red Birds."
