1950s IND New York Subway Sign CONEY ISLAND, 23x12 inches

This New York Subway sign is 23 inches wide and 12 inches long. It is made of a cloth-like material called Vellum.

There is a tape repair at the top right corner.

The sign is in fantastic condition for its age. Please carefully review the photos before making your purchase.

This sign came from trains that operated between the 1930s and 1970s on the lettered routes. The IND started service in 1936. Shortly after, the City of New York annexed control of the other, then-private, subways. While the operations remained distinct at first, services were realigned to share tracks.
