Vintage 1950s New York Subway Sun Rockaway Day A Train Volume 23, #14: 19x13 inches.

You are viewing an original Amelia Opdyke "Oppy" Jones Subway Sun advertisement.

This item is printed on yellow paper. These would be mounted to cardstock before being hung in the trains. This one was never actually used!

This poster announced the opening of the new subway line to Rockaway Beach. This is applicable today, as the Rockaway line was just reopened after the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy.

Ms. Jones was the principle artist for these posters through the 1950s and 1960s.
